Individual Records

Preserving this timeline strengthens our understanding of local history. Funeral home records often contain details not found anywhere else: birthplaces, occupations, church affiliations, family connections, migration patterns, and personal narratives that illuminate how people lived, worked, worshiped, and built community. For genealogists, historians, educators, and descendants, these records provide irreplaceable information that helps reconstruct family trees, trace ancestral roots, and deepen awareness of African American heritage in St. Joseph. Each entry adds another thread to the broader tapestry of Missouri’s history.

This map showcases a variety of physicians listed within the B.F. Graves funeral records. Where possible, biographical information and photographs have been included.

Each node on the map represents a physician and their clinic. To access their biographical information, please click on their photo to expand the image.
